i'm trying to move an existing 5.5 mailboxs to a fresh install of exchange 2003. the exchange servers are on seperate domains but trusted. I have full admin rights to both domains. when i run the dcdiag /s:(old5.5server)on my new server with exchange 2003 iget this error message "ldap search failed with error 87" "win32 error 87". I presume this ldap issue isalso stopping me using the migrate option with exchange 2003. Any ideas would be great.

Have you enabled the LDAP connector in Exchange 5.5?
Can you do a LDAP query on the 5.5 server?

Get those going and both servers should be able to talk to each other.

i've run ldap://server on my xp workstation(in the new domain with the 2003 exchange server), this connects fine to the nt4 exchnge 5.5 machine, but still the dcdiag doesn't work, any other ideas???

i tried the migration anyway. it works!! thanks very much matey.
