ldap error

hi
whenever i try to add something using ldapadd command it asks for a password , after i provide the password for rootdn it says I Invalid credentials (40)
plz help me what should i do
Secondly is it possible to run ldap server without any authentication............for that what all i have to do
Another thing if i want to give read access to all and write access to rootdn what should be my ACL look like

plz help its very urgent
