LDAP Connection failure

I need your help :

I have a iplanet directory server running on Solairs 8
( Sun one 5.2 )
I am trying to authencate to that server from a AIX Client
oslevel 5.2... All maintanenc level are installed, all the latest bos.rte..., lib, xlc are installed.
My ldap search run fine... and display's the result from ldap server. But when I try to login it fails.
after I give the passwd :
3004-10 failed setting terminal ownership and mode.
All file in /etc/security & /usr/lib/security are correct.

Please help
