Hello,

I have been using Oracle on LINUX but now need to create some Windows (2000/2003) databases.

Is the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH used on Windows systems?

Sorry for such a silly question. I cannot absolutely confirm if I need LD_LIBRARY_PATH set or not on Windows. In my tests is does not seem so.

Thanks for the sanity check! :)

Unfortunately I've been using oracle on windoze for the last 4 years, and the only client-side environment variable that I ever need is TNS_ADMIN. The variable you mentioned may exist in windoze, but having lived without so much as a mention of it, I can confirm that it is not essential to set it manually.

It's entirely possible that it's vital to Oracle, but set "behind the scenes" to some useful default value.

I therefore suggest that you "cross that bridge when you come to it".
