Is it possible to log/monitor all outgoing calls in LD 80 using the ENTD command? If so, how??

I think you can only monitor outgoing calls on a specific TN for a set amount of time, not all outgoing traffic at the same time.

if you want to monitor all out going calls use the CDR stream.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Run the output to a text file and then filter for outbound calls

thanks for trying to help mikeyb but you need to talk to me like I'm a 5 year old as I haven't got a clue what you mean!! How do I set this up??

Curiosity has gotten the best of me....Why do you hate phones?

Ok what exactly are you after?

I want a log of all calls that are dialled from my switch so it can be studied for a cost evaluation exersize. For example I want the dialled number and the the duration of the call especially for international calls.

Thanks for everyonr telling me to use CDR now please can someone explain how!!!

There are basicaly 3 steps you need to perform.

1. Activate CDR on the route in LD16.
This is the route outgoing calls take.
2. Then you must define wich port you want the outputs
to come out. You do this in the CDR-DATA block in
LD 15. Lets say you use PORT 2.
3. Then you must configure port 2 for CDR outputs.
Use LD17 for this. On TTY 2, you should set USER
to be CTY, (and only CTY).
4. Finaly you must check in LD 37 to see if port 2 is
disabled or not. STAT TTY shows the status, ENL TTY 2
will enable it, and DIS TTY 2 will disable it.

BTW, Nortel has many NTP's. Also one for CDR, try to get
your hands on one of them. Without them you'r like
lost in the dark...
