what does VOD mean next to the channels in a T1? if it means Voice Or Data, can i take some of those channels and use them for data? i was told only a data circuit can be provisioned for voice as well but a voice circuit cannot be provisioned for data too. Please clarify. And what does 3VCE mean next to a channel? 3 what? thanks

Hi,

- VOD -> Voice Or Data

- DTA -> Data-Only route

- VCE -> Voice-Only route

- 3VCE -> Voice route and 3.1kHz

- 3DTA -> Data route and 3.1kHz

Great. But i still don't know if I can use channels from my VOD circuit for data as well.

Both these prompts are programmed in the route under the prompt DSEL

VOD = voice or data (however, this is the data from the switch or for things that are built on the digital card ports 16 through 31)

3VCE = voice route and 3.1khz - this is my primary choice for today as it matches what most CO are using today

VOD trunk you can use Voice and Data, but not at the same time... So a call is Voice OR Data..

not that i know what 3.1khz means, but thanks for the explanation. Perhaps something is off on my programming vs. AT&Ts programming and thats why my counters are off (whatever "counters" are). thanks again.
