I was reading a post about NTP table and some of its commands in LD 117. Can somebody explain what is NTP table and why it is used?

Network Time Protocol allows the Call Server to keep the time of day in sync with a network based time source.
NTP is a protocol that polls the time from the time server, and then sets the internal clock. The time source can be on your network or on the internet. As you see in my post, I am setting it to a public time source.
Many companies run an NTP server internally, others just go out to the public network for time sync.
