Hi everyone.

Just a curiosity here...

When I print out an inventory it's marked with digits like this at the top:

1 11 2017 1 4 59, 1 11 2017 1 8 27, 1305

The "1 11 2017" looks like the date of course, but what does the rest relate to? For clarity, this is at the top of a sets inventory I've printed after setting it to be generated at midnight last night.

Cheers
Mike

pretty sure its the start time and finish time of the generate and the number of records in the report

Start 1 Nov 2017 at 01:04:59
Finish 1 Nov 2017 at 01:08:27
1305 records

An example from one i just did in Malaysia

MAT010 01/11/17 18:19:21 1020464
DESCTXT: Inventory card generation complete

=> inv prt cards
Card inventory:
1 11 2017 18 1 2, 1 11 2017 18 19 18, 206

If I remove the Sig Servers (COTS) from the Cards Inventory there are 206 devices

Ah, yeah! Same format as LD 2 TTAD. Ok, that makes sense... should have been able to work that out myself!

Odd that it suggests my generation started at 1:04am though... I'd set it for midnight. We've just stepped back an hour here in the UK for daylight saving (or sacrificing at this time of year!), but the time on the kit shows as correct now. weird.

Anyway, thanks very much :)

If you look in LD 22 at the AHST can you see the times on the INV GEN?

I am also in UK just happened to be in the MY system when i saw the post.

It doesn't seem to show the INV GEN actually. I can see...

TIM000 23:45 31/10/2017 CPU 0
TIM000 00:00 1/10/2017 CPU 0

I'd expect to see the INV kick off between those, right?

I scheduled it via LD 117 "INV MIDNIGHT SETS", and got a positive response saying that it would do the job.

Hmmm... if it didn't then the inventory I've picked up this morning isn't reliable enough from to work from. I need to know that any sets it shows as <unavailable> were in this state because they're not on a desk, rather than possibly because a hotdesk user is logged in on that set.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm an idiot... I should be looking for 1:04am of course. in that case, yes, the log shows that it did take place. Looks like it went ahead right after the daily routines, which started at 1am. The next activity was a BKR1 backup at 2am. So at least it did happen. Still a mystery why it started over an hour late though.

That got me...

SID 0
BKGD 044
FR44 1
PBXH 01
TODR 01
DROL 030 043 044 135 137
MID_SCPU NO
CY45 00
MULTI_USER ON

So, 1am for the daily routines?

The AHST reflects the daily routines for LD 30, 32 and 43 all beginning at 1am. LD 30 and 32 completed almost instantly, then the LD 43 routine (which looks like an EDD to the flash card) ended at 1:04am. The routine for LD 135 began then and completed practically instantly. The set inventory generation took place immediately after that, so 1:04am matches the timestamp on the inventory itself. Next thing after that was the BKR1 at 2am. Seemingly nothing between midnight and 1am.

Seems suspicious to me that it took place an hour late just after we've wound the clocks back. I'm guessing that it would have starts at bang on 1am if the DR wasn't taking place just then. But TTAD definitely shows the correct time.

It was Halloween, maybe it's haunted.

TODR is Time of Daily Routines so thats why they are at 1am. In LD 117 "prt bkps" and you should see your backup rule (bkpr) scheduled to start at 2am.

if config hasn't been changed then they always ran at 1am.

Not sure how it handles the fact that when the clocks change you have 1am then an hour later 2am becomes 1am :)

Yeah, TODR was a new one on me, but I get that now, thanks :) I'm familiar with BRK, and it is set to start at 2am, so no worries there.

The odd thing is still that the inventory generation took place just after 1am, after I'd told it to do it at midnight. But it's not a problem, just an observation. I've got what I need, so all good really! Cheers :)

I know the command refers to "INV MIDNIGHT x" as Midnight in 117 but would hazard a guess that it means whatever time the daily routines run (commonly referred to as the midnight routines), these used to be done at midnight but then there was a realization that different people had different low traffic times hence the move towards Daily Routines. Easy way to see is for one night change the TODR prompt to 3. Also i guess if you go in LD 135 and run MIDN it might also kick it off.

You might want to check in case you have anything such as Telephony Manager running the Inventory on a schedule at 1am.
