Can someone who has taken the LCNS exam please tell me what format it takes?
For instance how many questions are there?
Also, are they all multiple choice type questions?

I have the exam next week and I am trying to get a feel as to what to expect.

I took the test when it first came out, so not sure if it changed. I had about 34 questions, alot of multiple choice, either single answer or choose all that apply. There were also a few drag and drop diagram type questions.

The LCNA exam is 34 questions.

The LCNS exam is almost 300 questions. They are all multiple choice, and can be questions on any supported operating system.

You can expect the following: performance questions, questions related to SAN, DDS, cluster, firewall, network (eg. router tables), and NDMP. The whole point of an LCNS certification is to ensure that you can use NetWorker without being supervised or needing help.

There can be questions where you will see a NetWorker configuraion, and you will be asked to determine why backups may be slow, or how you can improve performance.

If you have the Legato 640 Advance NetWorker course, study from there... that should have more than 50% of the questions covered. The rest will come from the Administrator guide.

Wallace88,

Thanks very much for the info provided. Can you tell me what the pass mark is?

Nope... I don't know what is the passing mark.

In fact, when you get you you results, it will either say pass or fail. Unlike the LCNA, the LCNS results will not tell you what the passing grade is, or what your score was.

Slight error from above... the LCNA is 43 questions.
