Hi everybody,

Is there someone who has got it ?
I will to pass this exam in two months, and if I have some advices to get it. How many good answers must we have to get it ??

Thanks,
Best regards,

Marc

I think the passrate is 70%. What you need is a good overall NW knowledge, the capability to think logically and a bit experience - i would say about 6 month of constant NW handling. This should do.

Thanks 605,

I work very harder for this exam. I don't know if I will get it. But I hope !! ;-)

Thanks,
Best regards,

Marc

NB: Is there questions about hardware devices such as Clarion, Celerra, Auspex etc ..??

No, there are not really vendor-specific questions - but of course you should know in general how to deal with NDMP filers.

I don't remember if it was the LCNA or LCNS exams, but one of them quizes you on configuring NDMP backups. For that you do need to know about Netapps, Auspex, and other filers.

Also included in in either the LCNA or LCNS is not Powersnap, and for that you do need to know Clarion and Celerra.

Sorry, but it's been a while since I wrote those exams, so I don't remember which exams covered those topics, but you should be able to find out by looking at the topics that are covered in each exam.

Hi Wallace,

I guess that you talk about the LCNS 7.x because on the LCNA 7.x (I'm certified), I didn't have questions about Auspex, Clarion, Celerra, PowerSnap, filers etc ..

There is a lot of things to know and to understand for the LCNS 7.x, it is not obvious but I will try.

Do you remember if there is questions about zoning, mapping, luning, masking ... with jukebox, silo, alphastor under San ??

Thanks,
Best regards,

Marc

Zoning and other SAN configurations is outside the scope of NetWorker, so it was not covered in the exams.

I don't believe AlphaStor is covered in the exam.

Kep in mind that the questions can be in reference to Windows and Unix commands and syntax.

Good luck.
