These files are created during backup as "LOCK" files, to prevent a backup to start when it's already running. They should be deletet after the backup has finished. If they are not, the backup will not start again, and worst of all there will be no error message.
I agree with jkalbus.
Sometimes when you have savepnpc-backups, these temporarly files are not deleted if errors occured during backups or if backup was interrupted.
So it can happen that "lck"-files remains and your next backup-run will have problem. So check for lck-files after completed backups!
