Am I correct that if a groupname.lck file is in the \nsr\tmp folder the savepnpc commands will not run until I erase the groupname.lck file. I am using Networker client 7.1.1 and it looks as if I have to erase the lck files after every backup is run. Are there any patches for the 7.1.1 client?

Your observation is correct but the .lck file shall be deleted automatically after a successful run.

Thanks. What happens if the .LCK file is not deleted and I think that I do have a good backup.

The backup if fact can run fine but it will not delete the .lck file. All programs are running independently.

If the .lck file still exists, the postbackup script will not executed.

I am having a problem with my my .lck files not being deleted after every backup. As per Legato, after every backup(successful or not) the .lck should be deleted. My experience is that sometimes it deletes the .lck file and sometimes it does not delete it.
Should the .lck file stay in the tmp folder if a timeout condition occurs?

Hi,

You have various stages when using savepnpc, the pre command, post command and the actual save.

All three must complete sucessfully to allow the savepnpc to then run again the next time.

If any of them to not complete sucessfully, for what ever reason then you will have problems the next day.

You can sometimes have problems with the returns from scripts being ran within the savepnpc, so for e.g. if the post command calls another script, then sometimes it doesn't receive the correct return code and will then error and think that it has not completed sucessfully.

Try entering each line individually within the post command rather than call another script.
