OK, I fancy myself a 17inch LCD, and have been waiting for some time for 17inchers with decent response time (avid gamer)to get to a realistic price - which 12ms 17s now are.

something has just crossed my mind, the native res of a 17inch LCD is 1280x1024, but several of the games which I play have maximum in game menu settings of 1024x768? Is this going to create a problem, as I assume that LCDs dont really perform that well outwith their native res?

On the analogue / digital input side, I am led to belive that the current crop of monitors will give near comparitive performance using the old D-SUB as opposed to DVI, whereas older LCDs were pretty poor with D-SUB? is there any truth in this?

Thanks.

First question:
There will be no problems playing less than native, it certainly won't effect performance, infact frame rates may even go up a bit.
The only slight problem being, you won't experience the best image quality but it's still quite exceptable.
secondly:
The differance between anologue and digital has always been slight, although everything about a modern TFT has improved, this differance, still remains a subtle one.
