Hi Guys!

I have a Hyundai imagequest L70N LCD desktop monitor, which has served me faithfully for more than two years now (warranty has expired). A few days ago, it was extrememly hot and humid, and when I came back home in the afternoon, my screen wouldn't turn on. When I rebooted my computer, I could see the BIOS splash screen for a fraction of a second, before the screen dimmed out again. I did some research on this problem, and it seems as though either the backlight or the backlight inverter are broken... When the screen is "on" (the power light is on) you can very faintly see the picture.
How could I narrow down which of these two parts is broken? Also, how could I replace this piece on my monitor?

thanks a lot,

-Chris

I don't know that you could get a back light or inverter for an LCD monitor. You can for laptops, but I have never seen them for LCD monitors. If you are getting a quick flash of the BIOS splash screen, I would suspect the inverter first. These are more common to have faults than the back lights.
Good luck trying to find one though. It may cost you nearly as much as a new monitor anyhow.

Useful post Tony - I've bookmarked that one, thanks...
