Hey everyone, I just bought my first lcd and when it came through in the mail, I hooked it up right away to a computer I just built with no hard drive yet, but I started it up and the lcd has fading edges around the side, more-so around the left-side. I am wondering if this is normal, does it go away when the operating systems starts up, and if there is a way to fix this?

Thanks everyone for helping!

It should have even illumination across the screen, but I would wait until you can feed it a correct signal before saying that anything is wrong.

Ok, when windows is loaded up and everything, you cant really see it. If there i a white or black background you can see it though. So its not bothering me much at all.

My friend had an old laptop and another friend stepped on it hard one day. The lower left-hand corner of the lcd went nearly black to where you couldn't see a thing. But he noticed that if he left the laptop up and running with say a screen saver or something that the blackness was slowly fading away after a couple days. Eventually the screen worked itself back to normal, you might try just leaving it on for some time.
Good Luck.
