Hi! Hoping someone can tell me if I may have a defective monitor here. It is a MAG Flat Panel LCD. Here is what is happening:

I can shut down the machine and the monitor comes back on immediately upon startup, HOWEVER, if, for some reason, I have to unplug the tower, after I plug the tower back in and turn the tower back on, the tower works fine and goes through it's normal bootup, but the monitor will not pick up the signal. Odd? Haven't encountered something as such. Just need to be sure the monitor is not defective here. Any ideas on why this happens?

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I already had that pbl with a Iiyama lcd panel.
I had no solution to it. I had to reboot the computer so that the screen was getting the signal.
A few months later, the monitor's psu died. Warranty applied so I got a new one. This one works perfectly.

I don't know about your model, but maybe you should ask for technical support if the warranty is not void yet. Depending on the aftersales service quality (and the age and price of the monitor), this might be claimed for as abnormal !

Cheers,

grunt
