Help for a new Photoshop user!

The color on my laptop LCD screen looks considerably different from the color output on my Deskjet printer.

On the other hand, the color on my desktop closely matched the printer output.

I know that Adbobe Gamma does not work with an LCD screen.

How can I match my laptop screen colors to the printer?

Thanks,

Your LCD screen is glowing phosphours giving everything displayed a "brighter" appearance and is displayed with a combination of red, green, and blue colors. Your printed piece is not backlit and printed with a combination of cyan, yellow, magenta, and black (CMYK). So, in short, its impossible. You best hope is to calibrate your monitor by continuing to print out an image with red, green, blue, white, grey, and black and adjusting your monitor each iteration to appear like your print.

Your display only requires that images be 72dpi to appear crisp when viewed at 100%. You printer requires around 300dpi.
