Hey,
I really like using layers, because it allows me to create more interesting web sites.

I worried about browser compatibility, though. I've tested my site in IE 6.0 and Netscape 7.1. Are there any other popular browsers that don't support layers?

I take it back, my layers move about an inch when i display it in Netscape.

I've tried to put the pictures as backgrounds, but now it's tiling them and it looks terrible.

How can I have the same effect as layers (putting pictures behind the words) without layers?

Thanks,

I got a javascript that will detect which browser version you are using.

Would I be able to edit this script to tell it to hide or move some layers if it detects Netscape?

Eventually, I will have it load alternate pages for each of the popular browsers.

Here's the script:
<script language=&quot;JavaScript&quot;>
<!--
function MM_reloadPage(init) { //reloads the window if Nav4 resized
if (init==true) with (navigator) {if ((appName==&quot;Netscape&quot;)&&(parseInt(appVersion)==4)) {
document.MM_pgW=innerWidth; document.MM_pgH=innerHeight; onresize=MM_reloadPage; }}
else if (innerWidth!=document.MM_pgW || innerHeight!=document.MM_pgH) location.reload();
}
MM_reloadPage(true);
// -->
</script>

Thanks,
