If I center my table and have layers, if I resize the browser, the table moves, but the layer stays in the same place.

This poses a problem because the layers should stay in the same location, no matter if you change the browser size.

This was fixed by aligning my table to the left, instead of centering it.

Is it possible to tell the layer to align relative to the table, not to the browsers edge? This way, if the table moves, the layers moves with it.

Thanks,

do i replace position:absolute with position:relative?

I found another way to get around this is the place a blank column to the left of the page, so it doesn't look like it's right next to the edge, but the table will stay in one place at the same time.

Thanks,

Yes, with position:relative, elements are supposed to be bounded just like any other HTML element like an image, etc. So if you put a relatively positioned layer in a table cell, that's where it should stay.
