I want to launch a form in a frameset I am using as a home page. I am using an embedded outline which works just fine to open views, but will not launch a specific form. What happens is that when you click on a link in the outline, the specified form should open. Instead, a random form opens, like it doesn't know what form to select.

I don't think you can open the form IN the frame (at least I wasn't able to do that and have it work properly).

What I ended up doing was right clicking on the outline element, select Outline entry properties, in the properties box, in the Content section set Type to Named Element, Form, and set Value to the form name. You may want to put the Frame Name in the Frame option of the Content, perhaps that will work.

Now all of this is for running the application in the Notes environment, I can't really tell if you are writing for a Web app, but it will be completely different for that.

Thanks for your reply. I managed to ask a Notes designer to look at this issue for me, and I am doing what you suggested and it should be working but it is not. The Designer is stumped. He assures me I am doing this correctly.

Maybe try opening the form in your application then select Edit->Copy As Link->Document Link. Then in the design of the outline paste the link into the outline you want to link from. Make sure you specify the frame you want it to launch into.

I'm sure I've done this before in a portal I designed and it worked OK
