I'm looking to purchase one of those multi-use upgrade cards to upgrade a few 308ACS processors for several of my customers. I found a few for sale on eBay and the seller states they will upgrade the firmware to 6.0.B. I thought the latest firmware release for the 308ACS hardware was 6.85.T. The seller claims that 6.0.B and 6.85.T are exactly the same. Anyone know for sure if that is true? And if so, why would Avaya have two different names for the same maintenance release?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a multi-use upgrade card to upgrade the 509ACS processors to the latest R8 firmware. Of if they even exist at this point?

With eBay, it's "Buyer Beware". I've read horror stories about upgrade cards purchased off of eBay being either NG or corrupting processors.

My suggestion would be not to risk it and to contact a Local Avaya Business Partner as they will have access to the latest, and genuine, software for 308 and 509 processors (which is available only to ABPs).

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Thanks. I agree that buying through eBay is always risky. I'm still curious though about what the difference is between the 6.0.B and 6.85.T firmware. Anybody know?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is not 6.85T the update that has the Daylight Savings Time patch? I don't have my reference info handy at the moment. So I can't look it up...

....JIM....

That's correct Jim. 6.85T has the DST patch. Which is one of the main reasons I'm doing these upgrades. So I wanted to make sure that 6.0.B was really the same release and also has the DST patch. The eBay seller claims it does and the card appears to be an authentic Avaya upgrade card (see attached picture) not one of those home-made jobs, but I'm skeptical because no one I've talked to so far has ever heard of 6.0.B. I think I'm going to take Dexman's advice though and refrain from purchasing through eBay.

I have downloaded 6.85T from the Avaya site and put it on a card and after the upgrade, a F59 will show 6.0b

I'm pretty sure it is the same thing.

Thank You Ttech, this is exactly the information I was looking for.
