Is Avaya 2050 Release 4.4 the most recent softphone I can use with CS1000 7.65? Or is there something newer.
We need the "Symposium" option for agent phones. UniSTIM only - we don't have SIP.

Thanks folks

Nope that is the one. It does require a license to use them, and a license server to host the license file. yada yada...

If they are just taking calls, you can use the older version of the Avaya 2050PC. We had issues with our AAC system where the older one didn't recognize DTMF tones, but we were using it with agents long before we got AAC.

Yes, we have tried the older V2 version. Users complain that it sometimes is unresponsive and/or logs them out. I suspect it is mostly due to poor home internet but at least one is trying the newer version and says it is better.
Thanks John

Just make sure you you check the Symposium box in the configuration. We have AACC 6.3 and they log in with both the old and new version.

Stanley for 2050 disconnecting on home users we had an issue on the UDP idle timeout in the firewall, the sig server checks connection about every 100 or so seconds (would need to look it up to be sure) but firewall was set to clean up idle sessions every 40 seconds or so. This meant sets de-registered, and in an AACC they just dont get calls as the AACC treats them as logged out. First thing the user knows is they go to use the phone and it runs through a registration then they can sign back in. Obvious fix was to expand the timer in the Firewall for us so could be something like that. If you suspect it is i could try to find the details but it was about 7 years ago that we tracked it down i may still have the emails.

You are correct about the 100 second watchdog timer. I see it in Wireshark. My own 2050 phone sends an ACK immediately.
But I did not know about about the firewall timer that you mention. I will pass that on to the network guys. They say they don't see any signs of congestion but maybe haven't looked in that direction.
Thanks!

Found email it was Jan 2015 for us:

To implement a bespoke timer for the 2050 soft client registrations, a new service for UDP5000/5100 is required on the Firewall with a virtual session timer of 120s. The following services have been configured on the respective Firewalls for this purpose:

• udp_5000_high_timeout
• udp_5100_high_timeout

We were through a Checkpoint FW and details can be seen here:

Hi ,

I am experience one way audio on those sofohones, even connected on local network.

Any though ?

Thanks !

Use wireshark on th pc, what sort of calls? For example 2 PC's in same VLAN with 2050 if they call each other is that one way as you would not expect any network interference in that case? Or is it just incoming trunk calls look at the path from the DSP to the 2050 (what's involved FW, ACL,etc.).

Btw telklass just noticed you are adding to this already in progress thread with an unrelated issue, you should really start your own or it gets confusing running multiple conversations in one thread.

Sure ,

Thank you ... but actually it is ok with additional network configuration .

Thanks !
