Trying to create a figure with lat and long coordinates in AutCAD Lt 97 and can't seem to figure it out. I am able to import AutoCAD figures created on Unix Boxes from fly overs that have the correct cooridates but can't create my own and would like to know where to start with a latitude and longitude system. I have known points on a base map and want to overlay the drawing plans over them in AutoCAD. Is this some thing this version of AutoCAD can do or is it necessary to upgrade to a different version.

To overlay the drawings on a base map, try using align command. It works in at least since AutoCad R. 13. I don't know whether it works in LT 97.
