How can I create a formula to show sales amounts for the last 4 quarters?

If the fiscal year is Sept. 1 to Aug. 31 and the date is May 25, 2011, I need the report to display:

Sales Rep
Customer
Qtr 1(mar-apr-may 2010)
Qtr 2(jun-jul-aug 2010)
Qtr 3(Sept Oct Nov 2010)
Qtr 4(Dec-jan-feb 2011)
Total (for all quarters)
Average Monthly Sales

I'm using Peachtree Premium Accounting 2011 with Crystal Reports 2008. Peachtree uses Pervasive SQL 10 as it's database engine.

Thank you for your assistance.

DatePart will give you the quarter, as a number 1 to 4. Or you can use DateDiff to find the previous four quarters. Use your HELP fucntion to get details and examples, or do a SEARCH here.

If you group by customer and by quarter within customer, you will be able to total quite easily. (If you're not already familiar with Crystal's automated totals, see FAQ767-6524.)

Once you have a total for the 4 quarters, you can divide it by 12 to get the monthly average.

Thank you. Your answer to my post lead me in the right direction. I appreciate it very much.
