I have a Laserjet 5L on a Windows 2003 Server. Everytime I print to it from a client PC (Windows 2003 Server) it always sucks through an extra sheet. I have been through every setting on both the Server and the Client and set A4 everywhere it can be set but every time I print a single page to the printer I get an extra blank sheet. I have installed the latest drivers for the printer from HP and still I have this problem and it is really annoying.

Any one seen this or know a solution?

Thanks

Andy

when you do a test print from the printers folder,do you get xtra sheet?.
Is the xtra sheet before or after the printed sheet ?
If before,it may be a banner page setting in the driver.
If after it could be a mis-feed problem. Remove the paper tray from the unit. Remove the paper and "fan" it.
Verify the paper feed roller in the unit(big gray rubber roller) is clean and not smooth. You can clean with water and a lint free cloth.

It was (I say was...) an extra blank page that was pulled through the printer after the final page printed. It was not a mis-feed problem (although I do get this as well but not too often).
I removed all the drivers from both the server and a client yesterday (I am sure I have tried this a few times before). Anyway after a fresh install it seems to be behaving itself although I have only been printing single sheets - which were previously the most annoying as I would need to take every other sheet out and re-use.

I'll keep an eye on it....
