I have a Laserjet 4L connected to LPT1 under Win98. After installing a Deskjet 1220cse to the USB port, the laserjet 4L will print the document correctly (usually) but then prints numerous pages of characters and symbols. The only consistent thing that prints out is on the first page following the document. CODE=10001 prints on line 1 and
DISPLAY=PRINTER READY prints on line 2. All subsquent pages have various things printed on the first line only. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both the deskjet and laserjet numerous times to try to get the laserjet working again. The deskjet 1220cse always prints correctly but even without the deskjet installed the laserjet will not print correctly.
