I have a HP Laserjet 4L connected to a Windows 2003 server. I print to this from Windows 2003 and XP clients. I have a weird problem when attempting to print to it from Microsoft Excel 2003. If this is the first print sent to the printer is just prints a page of smudged lines, if the print is re-sent the same mudged page is printed (there is no text or anything legible printed). If however I print a page from MS Word 2003 it prints OK. If I then subsequently print the Excel spreadsheet again (after the Word page has been printed) it prints out OK.
I have made sure the drivers are the latest - HP recommend using the ones supplied with 2003/XP instead of their own. I have tried both with the same results?
Any ideas? There is no additional memory installed in the Laserjet 4L (default of 1MB).
Thanks
Andy
