I have two identical HP laserjet 2100 printers, both with JetDirect 600N network cards installed. They are the only printers connected to a particular print server (Server1). The default Win2k PS driver prints just fine to both, and has happily done so for a few months now.
However, when I install a PostScript driver for the printers in the same Server configuration, the print jobs dissappear into the netherworld. I get no errors or failure messages when I send test pages or print from applications on Server1 or on clients, the jobs never show in the spooler, and the built-in web interface for the JetDirect cards never show additional received packets for the jobs.
I set one of the printers up on our other print server (Server2), which has other networked HP printers using PostScript drivers (but no 2100's), and get the exact same symptoms.
-The PCL drivers still work fine.
-I tried both the default Win2k PostScript driver for the 2100, and I downloaded HP's current PS driver; both give me the same symptoms on both servers.
What's next? Take the printers out back and rough 'em up a bit? Any (more practical) ideas would be greatly appreciated.
