(1) I have two LONG, VARTICAL bars in the LH-margin of my OO document. I can't find any info. for what they are, or what they're doing there, or how to get rid of them. They are Hharmless" except for appearance, and they occur both on the screen (vhen viewing the document), and on printout of the document.

(2) What are they? What did I (unknowingly) do to put them there? Are they some kind of "mark" to show me some feature of my text, like, a "binding margin" (as Wordperfect call it), that I put in accidentally, without realizing it?

Thanks for any help..

It sounds like you've turned on change bars, which are vertical lines showing where all the changes are from one version of a document to another (very useful for reviewing large documents).

Edit->Changes
On the menu bar allows you to tweak the options for change bars.
