Large PDF files

Hello,

When I create a PDF file from Word, the result is way too big if you ask me. The original Word file is 121k, while the PDF i create out of it is 5890k! I've excluded all fonts, so no fonts are included in the file.
I'm using Acrobat PDF-writer 4.05.
Is this a known issue? Am I doing something wrong?

Are there any graphics in the original document? If so, what resolution are they? Are you compressing the images when you create the PDF (although if you are using PDFWriter it does an awful job with graphics anyway.
