I have been able to make 36&quot;x36&quot; prints by importing photos into pagemaker but I wish to make even larger prints using photoshop. Does anyone know how to do this. I've searched through the books but to no avail. <p> I have a HP 2500 design jet printer.

Hi,

I'm not sure I quite understand what the problem is here.

When you create a new document simply create the image the size you want. If you want a 40&quot; x 40&quot; then create it that big.

Are you having memory issues that prevent you from making a new document that size? or Will it not allow you to? or Will your printer not print that big? or Will pagemaker not import that big?

Can you explain what you are trying to accomplish and what is happening.

Thanks for answering so quickly. This is not a question of memory because the image will print. When I attempt to print very large images from photoshop I make sure the image size and margins are correct. (The printer will cover images 36&quot; x100 ft.)

If the image is longer than 36&quot; it will print but seems to automatically adjust the image size according to the width thereby chopping off the image.

Honestly, this is so easy to explain when you can see it. I apologize for being so amature about my problem description. As for what I am doing, some of my images may be seen at digitalsalon.com. Thanks again for your patience.

Jabmrw,
Go to and look for his action that will resize pictures and keep the quality pretty much in tack. I have tried it doing the resizing by doing it in 112% increments. He has an action that will do it automatically and you can specify the size.

Normally, large format prints are not printed directly from Photoshop, but imported into a page layout package, in your case Pagemaker, and printed from there. If the software you are using can't handle larger images than you need, just set everything up at half size with twice the resolution and output at 200%. Failing that, look out for Posterworks or equivalent, which does a great job of setting up your file for large format.
