Large disk support

I need to obtain a large plain disk to use as a shared drive for a test cluster setup. According to vmware, you can only make them with GSX server which I dont have (or intend to buy just for this exercise!). However, I seem to remember someone mentioning (in another forum) it is possible to download a 2gb PLN for this purpose. Anyone know where this download point might be? (BTW, its not vmware.com unfortunately!).

you should be able to assign a plain disk (not virtual) to a virtual machine?

A VM can uses a real disk or a real partition.
