I have been given a spreadsheet with 6000 rows, 31 columns. One column contains the path to the file system where the data (.pdf/.doc) resides. Two of the other columns specify folder structure (parent/child). The other 28 columns contain associated metadata (cats & atts).

I need to import these 6000 files/rows into a Livelink 9.7.1 environment. Because of the volume of cats & atts, I am looking for an easier way to build my control file. The control file must be driven off the spreadsheet I was provided. I had originally planned on using Object Importer but I'm open to other suggestions.

I would like to open this up for discussion to hear how you would approach this migration. Thanks.

Causeway ( do a module called MFU which will take a control file to handle a mass upload like that and the format you have sounds very similar to the format required.

If you would like a demo let me know and I'll arrange one for you.

syntergy's bulkloader expects you to supply object data/metadata in csv format, that may be an option not to re-invent the wheel as well.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
