Hi My laptop has been causing me some problems.
It likes to freeze and not start up. When it does get through it crashes and a blue screen comes up saying it has dumped some physical memory.
It says: STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xAF5CE21D, OxAC9847E8, 0x00000000)
When it has worked I've scanned it using Adaware and Spybot and it removes some of it. I got a trial version of Avast and it got rid of all but one of the entries. I'm still having the same problems.
Canyone help?
Thank you
Bob

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

"STOP 0x0000008e" error message during Windows XP setup

I suggest also that you post the FILE that gets spat out by the BSOD...

then update BIOS on the Laptop... Then ChipSet, then display drivers... in that order...
