Hi All,

i have a strange power problem on an ols toshiba satellite pro 4320 (yes i know its old)
if i plug in the power i get a power led on the front, when i press the power on button the led for power on comes on but thats it

no fans spin up, no drives are accessed and the screen shows nothing

i'm using a universal adaptor for the power as i don't have the original

any ideas for me to try?

if any more info is needed just ask

thanks in advance

Is the universal adapter set to the correct Volts and Amps? Both need to be correct. The requirements for both should be labeled on the bottom of the laptop.

Another thing to try is to disconnect the battery and power adapter. Hold the power button down for at least 15 seconds (the longer, the better up to 30 seconds). Let go and reattach the power adapter only. Most laptops will let you power on without the battery. If it still doesn't, put the battery back in, make sure the power adapter is still attached, and let it sit for a good 15 minutes. Then try powering it on again.
