I have a Packard Bell Easynote lap top. When I play DVDs (or any sound) there is a slight echo whther I ues the lap top spekaers or headphones.
Is there any remedy for this?

Many thanks,

Terry D

Disable any special effects in the sound card's software.

If no luck, then reduce the sound card's acceleration a notch or 2.

right, that's what I would suggest too. Likely, you have some kind of reverb effect enabled in your sound management software. Comb your system tray and start menu for access to the utility which is likely running in the background.

Excuse my ignorance but how do I access sound mangement software?

Different brands of PC's, motherboards, and/or sound cards all use something different. It would be impossible to name them all.

By chance, or by visiting a manufacturer's website, you might find the program in your installed programs' list. Like I said, aside from combing through your system tray and start menu icons, calling the manufacturer is usually the only other option.

Some common names are SoundMax, Mwave, AudioHQ (for Soundblaster Live!), etc...
