I've got a really silly problem.
I have an advent laptop with a Radeon Mobility 9000 screen card. I've updated to Plutonium XP 8.1 (6166)
2 days ago I rebooted, and the screen rebooted in 4 bit 640x480, and nothing I could do seemed to fix it.
Eventually I Uninstalled the driver (Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Display Adapters), reboot, and it picks it up on the system reload.
However, it drops it again very readily, (including at next system reboot).
How can I make the damn thing stay in my machine?
It's not there in Add/Remove Programs.
H$ELP!
