I'm completely frazzled and annoyed. I am hoping that somebody here can help me.

I have 2 Laptops.
#1 - Panasonic Tough Book PIII 800 40GB HD
#2 - Compaq Evo N600C PIII 1.06GHZ 20GB HD.

Both work well.

I wanted to do a hard drive swap. I removed the drives, swapped the caddies and now plug the new drives in. THe Drives don't work in either pc. The BIOS' show no hard drives and there's no option to detect the drives.

I put the original drives back and voila no problem. Swap back they won't work. I've spend hours playing with this. If somebody can shed some light I'd be most grateful.

Thanks.

The BIOS in both laptops may have to be upgraded to recognize the new HD's.
