Hello

I have just bought an HP nx7000 notebook. I seem to be having a problem with the keyboard. Neither of the shift keys or the function key seems to work.

I have Windows XP Professional OS.

I would be very grateful if someone could assist me with this.

Many Thanks

Melanie

Suggest that the supplier either fix or replace it under warranty.

Hello

Thankyou for your reply.

I bought the notbook reconditioned rather then from new. I could be wrong but I have a feeling it could be a configuration problem with the laptop. It seems a coinsidence that its both the shift keys that dont work. I've also discovered since that the two ctrl keys also do not work along with the fn key. However all the other keys seem to work fine.

If anyone has any answers please could you let me know

Many thanks

Melanie

it is possible to disable certain keys on your keyboard, maybe someone accidentally did that...?

if this is the case, then there's probably something in the registry...

I am "re-storing" a Compaq laptop, and on the Compaq driver download page there is a file to set up the keyboard. Check to see if there is a similar one on your model.
