I connected to a customers network today and somehow got a nasty virus. I cannot open my Spybot. Almost everytime I open IE7 another window opens. If I search on Google or any other engine and click on the desired item it will redirect to another website. Here is my hijackthis log:

I know that one thing it is infected with is the B.exe. I have tried to scan and nothing picks it up online. I have tried to use different downloadable safe scanners and they will not run.

When one gets to that state, your options are limited. I know this is a pain, but what I do in this case is to remove the hard drive, put it in a usb adapter, hook it up to another computer & then scan it from there with a good anti-virus program also a good spyware-adware program.

Its also good practise to renameing the HJT executable before you run it.
e.g. to hijackmoon.exe.

Anytime you say you've scanned with anything, make sure you tell us WHAT you scanned with, and HOW - aka normal or safe mode..

Also, a couple other good malware scanners:
Mwav Antivirus - free to scan, you have to buy to fix, BUT it will tell you WHERE the infections are, so you can manually fix them - just be extremely careful, as some are in the registry, and messing with the registry is not for the faint of heart. [wink]

DrWeb CureIt - excellent scanner as well

Neither of those require installation, you just download and run. I'd actually suggest running DrWeb CureIt first of the two. It is probably a better scanner as well. I have detected and removed a handful of baddies with MWav that some other AV/anti-malwre/antispyware apps couldn't remove.

Also, once you get your system clean, you could also install SpywareBlaster - it's just a good protection program that makes sure your systme settings are "up to par" protection wise. It does not run in the background, so system resources isn't anything to think about with this one.
