Laptop Hard drives Compatible/Toshiba&IBM

Ive got a IBm(oldermodel) Think pad.I have a problem with a year old Toshiba M55-S1001.NO Password ,Ive tried some different angles and this one has me stumped.:( Im not going to through the towel in ....yet.And in know way going the Toshiba support way...I can overide a desktop ,but this 1 laptop has me ????????
HELP if you can !!!!
 
Which password are we talking about here... BIOS, Windows Logon, or what?

If what you are asking is if you can put an IBM laptop drive into a Toshiba laptop or viceversa, Then yes, as long as both interfaces are the same. You should have no problems. Drives even laptop drives aren't proprietary. So either drive should work in either machine. Except Windows will most likely not boot as it wont take kindly to all the hardware changes between one and the other.

But from a striclty hardware point of view, yes it should work.
