I have a Compaq Armada 1520 notebook. with a 1GB Hdd & 2GB PCMCIA hdd.32mb Ram. I think there's a problem with the 1GB hdd, because I cant seem to install an Operating system on it. I've tried Mandrake linux 8 and it goes halfway through the installation and comes up with an error message that one of my partitions is corrupt.
Ive reformated the drive.
Can someone give me advise on how to get an operating system on my notebook.

Thanks in advance

If your 1gb HD has had it get another. If you go to the Maxtor website they have a tool for checking hard drives. I can't remember what it is called. Have a look. You don,t need to run it on a Maxtor hard drive & it will tell you if your HD has failed.
