I was give a 2G hard disk from an old Toshiba laptop so I tried to test it in my Toshiba 310CDS Laptop an oldie but works well. When I booted up the laptop with this other harddisk I got a HDC ERROR - Insert System Disk so I then boot off the floppy and try to look at the C Drive and I got an Invalid Drive Specification.
I used CHKDSK C from the floppy and I got displayed all the information that one would expect to see, ie Vol Serial Number, Total Disk Space, Hidden Files, Available Disk Space, etc etc.
But when I used Scandisk C I get the message Scandisk cannot examine drive C.
I tried Fdisk and I got the message No Fixed Disk Present.
Now although I got some information from the CHKDSK program and nothing from the other programs could I safely say that this hard disk is stuffed???
Comments welcome..
