Laptop hangs after start up

Hello,

I just installed 2000 pro on the boss' toshiba satellite pro 4200 laptop. I reformatted with NTFS.

Everything went fine during the installation but now everytime he tries to start up(cold boot)the computer goes completely through the black & white start up and then the 2000 start up but then freezes with a black screen.

If I first boot into safe mode and the reboot into normal, everything goes fine...and every time I restart after that I have no problems. But if you shut the system down completely, the same thing happens.

I am at a loss, any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I've installed 2000 proffessional on laptops and desktops and I have found when NTFS is used I've had all kinds of problems including hangups.

Re formatted to FAT32 and installed and system runs fine.
