My AT&T Globalyst laptop has died. It was equipped w/Windows 95, 3 different SPM's & System 25 software. It also had a floppy-disc drive. I need to purchase a new laptop and get the necessary CDRoms to load. I do not use WinSPM. I have some old SPM floppy's (4.25) that are both UNIX & DOS referenced. When I download SPM 7.15 onto new Laptop, do I need both versions? I have recently noticed small version Laptops at a major Electronics store here in So.Cal. for $100. Are these all I need and do they have the serial port to plug into Admin?
I had a client today with No MLX sets (no console to program) Their Legend was an upgraded Merlin 11.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

WinSPM has a standard mode, where it behaves just like the DOS version, except it takes longer to connect (and uncheck everything in the "Data Collection on Connection" area of options, and check the box for "Automatically Launch "Standard SPM" on connect")

I can confirm it will run on Windows 7 when installed and run in Windows XP (SP3) mode. Don't know about Win8 or 10

Tommy, Merlinman gave me the answer a while back. I was loading , a virtual box on windows 10 for spm and and all my AT&T software, after loading spm was to right click and tell it to use compatibility mode for xp sp3 , it worked

From the responses, it sounds a little more complicated/technical than I anticipated and outside my comfort zone. Obviously, when I purchase my new Laptop, it will be loaded with Windows 10. I work w/ an AVAYA agent in Mission Viejo who should have the software/ SPM or WinSPM. Not a fan of WinSPM and hope to get regular SPM software, however will have to load what she has.

How/Where do I do this? right click Icon? Do these options just popup? I have not done this before - do not know what to expect.
CRVBOB, "I was loading, a virtual box on Windows 10"
A box appears while it is downloading?
Thankyou guys for helping - I'm too old and have limited brain cells - I know Legends but not computers

I did have a virtual box but after reading what MerlinMan said, I deleted it and just loaded spm, my system 25 , and system 75 with all the other Avaya software ,plus procom, right click on desktop shortcut and used windows compatibility to xp sp3, they all work with windows 10
your avaya agent shouldn't have any problem with loading SPM, use a usb to serial DB-9 adapter by iocrest

I should also tell you that I'm using windows 10 pro, , but it shouldn't matter i don't think if you use windows home , but 10 give more options and more stable

Thanks TTT & CVR, I just purchased a used Gateway 400 VTX Laptop-Notebook w/XP-Pro from EBAY. Should arrive around 1/7
I remember installing new Magix's a few years ago w/ disc's with SPM included. Don't seem to have one however, I have checked with my AVAYA agent whom I contract to and she has the software plus you have provided download links. Looks like I will be ready again the next time I walk into a legend w/a Merlin 11 Console, e-godz. . . . .
