Was looking in for a laptop purchase!
Two shortlisted models are:
1) Toshiba 5205-S704
2) Toshiba M1 Tecra

Was stuck with few querries! Shall be grateful if
someone is able to guide me through!
**M1 Tecra, though fulfils almost all the
requirements, does not boost a TV out Port..Is it
possible to find some alternative..with USB
port/S-Video... to connect the same with the TV-IN
connector of my Sony Camcorder P115 E/My Television??
**Can I use the external (Slim) DVD - RW from Sony
DVRW1 with either of the two mentioned Models of
Toshiba (I know both come with option swap DVD
Burners)
***** Most importantly, can I use either of the two laptops for DVD Video Burning (with Packaged DVD -RW Writers)..to be played on home DVD Players

Shall really appreciate an early guidance since I need
to place the order very shortly! (At mailtodeep@yahoo.com)

I have a USB I/O video controller, but it's at home. I'll check the brand and model name tonight.
As for using an external burner, the sole condition is the ability to connect it to the laptop. For the Sony DVRW1, I believe you need one or two i-link connections. Check that the laptop you want has two.
As for burning DVDs, the issue has more to do with the software than the hardware, I would think. But I don't know anything about burning DVDs yet, so don't count my opinion on that.
