We have a laptop that has a pcmcia card connecting to the network. This connection drops frequently. We have swapped out the card, swapped out the pigtail connecting it to the network, gotten a new pigtail, replaced the c5 cable from the pigtail to the wall outlet, switched the port on the hub that it was connected to, replaced the outlet in his office, hard coded the speed of transmission in his laptop.
He can be on for periods of time and then he will drop for no reason. Sometimes this happens several times in a row. He usually reboots and logs in again and then it may work for a while or it may drop again.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT ELSE TO LOOK FOR
We are going to put a pc in place of his laptop for now to continue testing the cabling.
