I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276. The display looks as if it's missing colors or as if it's not fully lit. It's not completely dark, but not good enough to use. kind of like looking at a negative. The video also appears bad in the BIOS so it is not a software problem. I've replaced the inverter and video cable but I do not want to buy a new display until checking here first.

Also, picture looks great on an external monitor.

sounds like the backlight is gone since u already replaced the inverter, a new lcd will cost you around 90$, afik no other solution

Thanks. I will order the backlight and attempt to replace it. I will let you know in a couple of weeks.
