When undocking my Laptop D600 it goes on standby...
Windows 2000

message: Preparing to Standby in order to complete eject...
(it just stays on that screen and I have to reboot everytime)

If I click on start/Eject PC I get the same message.

my Power Options properties are these:
Advanced tab/Power buttons
When I close the lid of my portable computer
"None"

now even if I leave the lid open and undock it still freezes with the above message.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have only used a laptop occasionally but, don't you have to have all the advanced power settings enabled to do the docking\undocking setup? When you undock it changes the power mode also doesn't it?

Thanks for the reply Jon,

I contacted Dell and they told me that the Standby files were corrupted and I needed to re-image my PC.

Well...I didn't and I'm glad, here's what I did to fix my problem.

Power Options Properties
Power Shemes was set to "always on"

I changed it to Home/Office Desk
and modify the Sandby mode to Plugged in "Never' and
Running on Batteries "after 5mins".

Cheers!
