Here's a brain teaser for the New Year. We will have a standalone PC in an area near a Clearwater, FL courthouse. What's been requested is to have our court reps with laptops be able to move from courtroom to courtroom and access live client data from this standalone PC. My thought, since we'll have no access to any cabling in the courtrooms, is to have a wireless modem on each laptop, that will connect to the PC using PCAnywhere. That way, the laptop will be able to access live data as it controls the PC, as long as the signal is good.
Please keep in mind that the PC is using old legacy software and that the data stored is not in a format to transfer easily to a PDA. Any other ideas out there??
